Working with Learning and Development

Learning and Development work closely with the Trust’s service areas to ensure we are providing training and development to meet the needs of staff.

A comprehensive training needs analysis has been developed to ensure we are providing training in line with our regulatory requirements. These training courses are recorded and reported on regularly directly to team managers as well as all members of staff being provided with their individual training reports twice yearly.

Remember, staff can request an up to date training report at time throughout the year.

The Trust also provides opportunities to those wishing to join the organisation through Apprenticeships and Preceptorships.

The Foundation Apprenticeship Programme is not only available in healthcare but in many other areas including administration and maintenance services. The non-healthcare Apprenticeships are available to those aged 16 and over, with the healthcare Apprenticeships open to those 18 and over. We recruit Apprentices on a yearly basis and if successful, you would complete a diploma in your chosen area, key skills and specific training to enable you to gain a permanent position within Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The Preceptorship Programme is for newly qualified staff, looking to secure their first role. The Preceptorship Programme provides a framework in which Preceptees are supported through training and mentoring, both in the workplace and through Learning and Development.
