Eating disorders are a mental health illness associated with high mortality; they can affect anyone at any age. They are often more about feelings and emotions than they are about food.
We work with patients, your carers and other organisations which include child and family services, GPs, community mental health teams and hospital services. Patients who need to be treated in hospital will be admitted to the Haldon unit in Exeter. Sometimes we also use the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
Initial referral to the service is by a GP to the local community mental health team or child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).
We provide a leaflet on Top Tips for a Healthy Body Image.
